Growing Christian nationalism in the UK

As of 2020 there wasn't much talking about identity of faith when it came to the UK the only exclusion to that would be the Islam faith when discussing issues surrounding grooming gangs and immigration but since then after going through Covid, there has been more discussions of what is a Christian in terms of when it comes to the UK and fast forward to now you can see more movement surrounding the identity of Christianity saying no longer we are a British country and that you should adopt our values as British but the UK is a Christian country and so they should be adopting or appealing to our standards. 

This isn't to say that every Christian is becoming a Christian nationalists but those that are politically right wing and more engaged with politics are becoming more Christian nationalists no longer adopting the pluralistic mindset. these topics could be like banning the burka, groups like the Christian institute wanting Christianity to be a key part of education and not just apart of RE lesson and languages used, news outlets like GB news appealing to a more Christian audience (which isn't wrong to do) , Whether they will achieve their goals depends on how much influence they have in the Tories, reform and restore Britain but as of the 2021 census only 27.5 million identify as Christian. This could be a range of identity not necessarily being a part of a particular group like catholic, protestant or Ext. There are also Christians as well who are not a fan of these nationalistic groups either So it will be interesting to see how this will change in the 2031 census and as said before the Christians as a whole are almost no longer the majority with groups like atheism or agnostic almost becoming the majority so to say (The UK is a Christian country) may no longer be the case but we will see how the trend change within the next few years
