Britain's 1000 year old tapestry is finally coming home

The Bayeux Tapestry depicting the Norman conquest of England in 1066, is now being displayed in the British museum and hasn't been in the UK ever since it was first created. King Charles and president Emmanuel Macron are visiting this artifact on the 02/09/2026. The museum will open the exhibition on the 10th of September 

William the Conqueror’s half brother, the bishop Odo of Bayeux created this piece, but in 1077 after it was created moved to Normandy and resided there ever since. At that time period however he wouldn't have been moving to France but the new duchy of Normandy which would have been a part of England. Normandy having been exchanged multiple times during history would have gone from England to France and back until it had finally settled in France with the ending of the hundred years war. However, it has been exchanged for over 300 years ever since the creation. So will you visit this historic tapestry?
