Rutland county to be absorbed

In 2028 the Rutland country will no longer exist and will join into Leicestershire, as previously 10 signs marking the county's borders were mysteriously taken and so the government decided to take the other 17 signs too, and with that decision include the erasure of the UKs smallest county. 

There are other reasons as to why the government is deciding to let go of Rutland as the government is deciding to consolidate many of the smaller councils in much larger ones so that the budget for these councils can focus more of their budget on increasing housing, but since Rutland is so small as a county. They think it is better to let them join another as well. 

There is currently a Rutland movement in order to keep not only the smallest county status but for their belonging from their home. But will they be able to keep their home county or will the governments push for larger councils get in the way of their identity?
