New technology involving aviation fuel.

 A trial was carried out using waste biomass ( wood chips, saw dusts, residue and wheat straws) into a product called ethanol. Ethanol isn't a new technology that has been been created but they manage to create a coproduct called biochar that comes with it that captures the carbon throughout the process, making it now a carbon negative fuel and recently they have managed to run a trial for 72hours and it was a huge success.transport as a whole is one of the largest producers of carbon, but with this technology, this could potentially eliminate carbon emissions from the aviation industry and perhaps transport as a whole. 

This being with the competition of just taking oil from the ground and making it a fuel could still be difficult to transition to a net negative carbon based fuel when the infrastructure and accessibility is there. Although the war in the middle east has affected the fuel prices here in the UK the proposal to start drilling oil in the north sea could slow that down.

Nova pangea the ones that had created this, are planning four new industry in the uk and although they may struggle with supply at the start like not having enough biomass, in 2030 they believe there will enough within europe including the uk so we will see in the future how this will turn out.
