A temporary bridge for an annual reading festival

 At Caversham reach approximately Scours Lane 1 mile upstream of Caversham Bridge. A temporary bridge will be set up for the annual festival in reading,set up on the 20th of august and the 6th of September. Both will be set up around 7pm to 12am.Expect delays of around half an hour on both of these days. This bridge is also being installed by Festival republic 


Please note for your personal safety,you won't be able to navigate through while the bridge is being installed into place and secured. There will also be temporary staff patrolling the area but also managing this temporary closure, please follow their instructions.There will be  Communications available on marine band VHF Channel 74. Days between  20 August to 6 September 2026, masters of all boats should take care whilst navigating near this new structure.


The bridge’s headway will be 5.35 metres / 17 feet 6 inches at standard headwater at Caversham Lock.
