• India’s NIA Investigates Detained Maldivian Pilots Over Alleged Suicide Plot on Flydubai Aircraft
- The investigation into an alleged suicide attack plot onboard a Tel Aviv-bound Flydubai aircraft has escalated with India's National Investigation Agency (NIA) officially stepping in. A specialized financial and cyber intelligence wing of the NIA is collaborating with UAE authorities to trace the international links of two Maldivian co-pilots detained in connection with the case. The probe was initiated after the commercial aircraft's Indian captain, Smit Machchhar, was reportedly assaulted inside the cockpit. Investigators are checking digital trails to determine if a broader trans-national network coordinated the plot.
