Delhi Pollution Crisis: Supreme Court Orders Urgent GRAP-4 Rules Across NCR
- Taking a strict stand on the worsening air quality in the national capital region, the Supreme Court of India has heavily criticized the Central and state governments today. With the Air Quality Index (AQI) touching dangerous 'Severe' levels, the apex court observed that the health of citizens cannot be compromised. The bench ordered the immediate implementation of all restrictions under Stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP-4). Under these strict rules, the entry of heavy commercial trucks into Delhi (except for essential services) and all construction activities have been completely banned.
