Dutch Cities Recover After Nationwide Public Transport Strike




LOCATION: Amsterdam, September 11, 2026


Public transport services were heavily affected across the country during the September 9 strike, with Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague among the cities experiencing widespread disruption.


Metro, tram and bus services were among those affected, forcing many commuters to change their travel plans.


International rail travel was also disrupted, with Eurostar services on the Dutch network affected during the strike.


Regular services have since resumed, although passengers were advised to check travel information before making journeys.
