Dubai Stocks Slip as Regional Tensions Put Investors on Alert
DATELINE: Dubai, September 10, 2026
Dubai's main stock market came under pressure on Thursday as escalating tensions involving the United States and Iran increased concerns about regional trade, energy supplies and financial markets.
The Dubai Financial Market General Index declined around 0.2% during early trading. Dubai Islamic Bank was among the notable decliners, falling around 1.1% during the session.
The weakness in Dubai came as investors across the Gulf assessed the potential economic impact of rising geopolitical tensions and uncertainty around major energy and shipping routes.
Oil prices also remained elevated, with Brent crude trading above $100 per barrel. Higher oil prices can influence inflation, transportation costs and business activity across the region.
Despite the short-term market pressure, investors continue to monitor economic fundamentals and corporate performance across the UAE.
