Dubai Airport Plans Stronger Infrastructure to Prepare for Future Security Threats

LOCATION: Dubai, September 11, 2026

Dubai Airports is planning to strengthen the infrastructure of Dubai International Airport following disruptions caused by the recent regional conflict.

The airport is considering placing important facilities, including fuel storage infrastructure, underground to provide greater protection against possible future threats.

Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths said the airport faced numerous security alerts during the conflict but was able to maintain operations and recover quickly.

Passenger traffic has since rebounded strongly, with airlines gradually restoring their services and airport activity moving closer to normal levels.
