Bestwood Parkrun Cancelled After Hornet Nest Discovered Near Route

A local parkrun in Bestwood Village has been cancelled after organisers discovered a native hornet nest close to part of the running route.

Several participants were reportedly stung during a recent event, with one person requiring hospital treatment.

Following advice from park rangers, organisers decided to avoid the affected area until the hornet colony settles.

The organisers are also considering alternative arrangements and said participants will be updated when a safe route becomes available.
