War with Iran pushes energy prices up

 

The Strait of Hormuz north of the Arabian Peninsula is a very important trade route for a lot of oil and gas being supplied from. Unfortunately with the USA declaring war on Iran this has made this sea region very hostile and all that oil and gas cannot safely be transported to places like Europe or the UK. However Andy Burnham announced on the 30th of July that he will be drilling oil off our coast in the Northsea so in the future we may see not only a safer means of our oil getting transported but jobs and industries in the area. The downside to that is, although personally i think its a good idea for our nation to be striving for, alot of members from the Labour parties have distasteful views about us drilling oil as it could harm the environment. This may have contributed also or coincidentally, has not been mentioned as to not being set as to, when he will work on it.

If Andy can get drilling as soon as possible, and re right a wrong from when the tories were self sabotaging our own oil industries we could see the uk becoming more relevant again but does Andy have what it takes to be a leader and set us on an economic path for the future or will we be bogged down by the ministers in the Labour party and be burdened by even more taxes that we already have. We will see.
