Negev Desert Agritech Complex Unveils First 'Air-Watered' Vertical Potato Farm

 

BEER SHEVA: Addressing severe global water scarcity and extreme desertification, an agritech consortium in the Negev Desert has officially commercialized the world's first large-scale vertical farming facility that relies entirely on atmospheric water generators (AWGs). The facility produces high-yield potato crops by extracting pure moisture directly from dry desert air, requiring zero conventional groundwater or external irrigation lines.

The automated facility uses smart sensors to monitor root humidity in real-time, delivering the harvested atmospheric water mixed with organic nutrients in a precise mist format. Agronomists note that this closed-loop system uses 95% less water than traditional open-field farming and eliminates agricultural runoff. The Ministry of Agriculture has hailed the facility as a revolutionary milestone for global food security, with several arid nations already seeking to import Israel’s proprietary design.
