Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park Activates New Phase to Boost Clean Energy Capacity

 

DUBAI DESERT: Dubai’s clean energy transition has achieved a monumental milestone as the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) officially commissioned the latest operational phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. This massive expansion adds 900 megawatts of clean photovoltaic power to the emirate's central grid, pushing total operational capacity to new record heights.

The newly activated facility utilizes cutting-edge bifacial solar panel technology and automated sun-tracking systems to maximize clean power generation in desert environments. Energy analysts emphasize that this expansion drastically minimizes Dubai's reliance on traditional natural gas for electricity, moving the emirate significantly closer to its strategic sustainable goal of generating 100% of its total power capacity from completely clean energy sources by 2050.
