Israel Aerospace Industries Tests Automated 'Heavy-Cargo' Drone Corridor Over Central Logistics Hubs

 

LOD: Pushing the boundaries of autonomous industrial transport, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has successfully completed the first live operational test of its automated "heavy-cargo" drone transit corridor. The designated aerial highway allowed massive, electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing (eVTOL) freight aircraft to autonomously transport industrial components between manufacturing clusters and central distribution hubs within minutes.

The logistical network operates on a highly secure, independent flight routing system managed by ground-based automated air traffic control algorithms to prevent mid-air conflicts with commercial aviation. To ensure public safety and minimize urban acoustic footprints, the cargo drones are mandated to fly along strict low-noise trajectories over industrial zones and highway bypass channels.
