Saudi Arabia Approves $15 Billion Green Grid Project to Link Regional Solar Hubs

 

RIYADH — The Ministry of Energy in Saudi Arabia has finalized a multi-billion dollar investment package to construct a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) smart grid network. The mega-project will connect massive solar arrays across the desert directly to urban centers and industrial zones. Financial analysts predict this clean-energy corridor will dramatically reduce domestic carbon emissions and prepare the Kingdom for regional green power export by next year.
